Ava's Big Girl Room

Ian and Ava spent Memorial Day weekend with Nana and Papa Stuemke so mommy and daddy could tackle several home projects. One was preparing the nursery for the new baby. This meant that the baby furniture in Ava's room needed to be replaced with big girl furniture.

Ava got a new big girl bed. This bed was originally my cousins, and then his little girls. It was a dark wood color and I painted it white. It has wonderful drawers underneath for her to store her dress up clothes and dolls in.

When Ava saw it she ran right to it and yelled, "ahhhhhhh, it's boootiful!"

Then Ian pointed out her new dresser and she ran to it and screamed the same thing! She can now pick out and put away her own clothes. This is good and bad, for we have multiple outfit changes a day now.

Her dresser and mirror were also a dark wood color, and I painted them to match the bed. She especially loves the pink crystal knobs in the middle.

Play kitchen and table in the opposite corner.

A few of Mommy's favorite things...

All of Ava's special pictures from birth on.

A rose themed quilt that our neighbor made especially for Ava displayed on the quilt shelf that Daddy made before Ava was even born.

A Holly Hobby needlepoint that my Mom made for my nursery.

Ava's beautiful shabby chic quilt with the hand embroidery.

Ava says "whoo hoo!" She picks way too much up from her brother.

Slept like a princess!
