It's a big, big world William! And, it didn't take long for his two VERY important big siblings to find him.
Chad brought both of them in after lunch, which is why Ava looks so sleepy.
Ava has been very excited to meet "her baby." She had a million questions about him. Ian just got comfortable in the other bed and claimed the TV remote.
She was very concerned about everything and had to see every inch of his body. Unfortunately, she spotted a little blood on the bandage from his foot pricks. She kept saying, "oh, poor baby William. Does that hurt him?" (Doesn't she look cute in the "big sis" t-shirt I made her.)
Newborn Glory
I think we explained the umbilical cord to her 1000 times. Plus, it's addressed in all our big sister story books, however, seeing it was so much more traumatic.
She didn't want anyone to hold him without her. Of course, this will not surprise anyone who has seen Ava with a baby in the room recently.
William started rooting and grunting while Ava was holding him, so Daddy said he was going to give him to Mommy so he could nurse. Ava responded by pulling up her shirt and explaining to Daddy that she had a nipple and could feed him. The funniest part was that she even started moving his mouth towards her chest. We've shared the story with several visitors since and she responds by lifting her shirt and showing them.

So sweet! I am so happy Ava finally has "her baby!" She has been so ready to be a big sister. Can't wait to see Will again! Take care.
