Miss Independent

If you have followed my blog, you have probably gathered that I can go on and on about Ava. At times I feel as if I am guilty of "Ian blog neglect." The fact is that Ava is like an only child from 9 to 4, monday through friday. We have so much fun together while the boys are away.

She is really blossoming into such an amazing little girl. The differences between her and Ian are just incredible. Friends have always shared gender differences with me, and now they are finally all coming to be.

Ava is far more independent then Ian ever was. She insists on doing everything herself from brushing her teeth, getting dressed, taking care of her dolls, helping clean-up, making her meals, changing her diaper, feeding our guinea pig, getting the paper, etc.. Now don't get me wrong, Ian used to help with these tasks, but he never instigated them! Ava reminds me when I'm off routine and insists we do things, which has been good and bad these last few weeks when I've felt so icky. The child refuses to let me just lie on the couch!

Her big thing right now is dressing herself.

Here is her "going to bible study" outfit. A bunny ears head band and pink tutu. She said she didn't need a shirt for it was sunny.

Here is her ready to go sledding outfit. Purple jogging suit with a gold shimmery vest. She said it would keep her warm for it has fur on the hat.

Ava has also started potty training. The girl will do anything for a few skittles, which luckily for us means using the potty is always a favorable request. We've got the number two act down. We will see if Mommy can stay motivated to conquer number one.
