Christmas 2009 Highlights

We had a very nice Christmas. Unfortunately, I have very little to show for it picture wise. I must admit I've been very unmotivated during this stage of pregnancy. Baby number 3 has made me 3x sicker than the others. I did manage to complete my decorating and shopping, however, baking never did get crossed off the list. Oh well, maybe next year....what am I talking about, I'll have three next year!

Our festivities started off with a trip to Altamont for Christmas Eve. We get the kiddos up bright and early and load them directly into the van, so that we can arrive in our pjs to celebrate with Nana and Papa. Here are the kids with their pop tarts! We were in Altamont all day with the Stuemke/Yagow side, and were back in St. Louis around 12:15am Christmas day.

Good thing too, for I started throwing up around 12:30am and it continued all Christmas day. I caught a very terrible stomach virus from some friends and spent all Christmas day in bed miserable (hence no Christmas morning pictures, but I did set the video camera up so we did capture memories.) I managed to get up in the AM and enjoy Santa time, however, I quickly returned to bed.

We were scheduled to head to Murphysboro to celebrate with the DeShazo side, but had to postpone our plans. We skyped in with the family that evening to say hello. I was concerned that this would really bum out the kids, however, once Ian was assured that his presents would be there waiting for him it was all good. 'tis the season of receiving when you are a six year old! They actually loved spending the day at home playing with all their new toys. We've never had that luxury before.

Ian received several lego sets, so he was estatic. He had them all put together by the end of the day. Ava's favorite presents were her own pink bean bag, a pretend make-up kit, and a doctor kit for her dolls. She spent the day giving everyone shots.

Luckily, I woke up feeling like a brand new person on Saturday, so we were able to head to Murphysboro after all. My family all got back together for leftovers on Sunday. It ended up being a wonderful Christmas despite the detour.

We are very blessed to have so many family members to share it with!

P.S. for those that keep asking - No, Chad did not receive his truck! Santa knew better!
