IAN BOY

The last few months have been big ones for Ian and Ava. At two, Ava has now reached the age where she can be more of a playmate, and she does her best to keep up with Ian in whatever he is doing. She truly adores her big brother too death and spends all her time doting, irritating, loving, aggravating, and concerned about "Ian Boy's" well-being. Yes, "Ian Boy!" That is what Ava calls him. A name that she truly came up with on her own. Everything is "Ian Boy" this and "Ian Boy" that. Ian is now to a point where he has started to correct her..."It's just Ian, Ava!"

Being an oldest child, I too know how it feels to grow up in a household where you are truly adored....where your siblings only want to be with you, fight over who gets to sit by you, serve you, take care of your chores and cry when you leave. It's a very difficult role to have in a family! I too remember the day when I tried this very stunt to keep the siblings at bay, however, I was a bit dissappointed that it happened so soon in my own household. I had grand hopes that my children would only be the best of friends who want nothing more than to create peace and harmony in our home.

"No Girls Allowed or else."

This is now the greeting on Ian's bedroom door. Yes, that's a large monster with three feet, and a hammer, rocket and anvil chasing after lots of little Ava's. Sweet isn't it? Of course, it doesn't apply to Mommys for "we aren't girls!" Nice!
